About

I’m a 20-something professional with a B.S. in journalism. I have a respectable job and I don’t live in my mom’s basement. I don’t call up 1-900 psychic hotlines and I don’t have a history of hallucination. I don’t hold seances and I don’t think I’m a witch or pagan priestess or anything nutty like that.

I say this so you know I’m not a nut. And I’m not going to lie. This stuff scares the *** out of me. I’m an adult and I sometimes sleep with the light on.

So why am I into this? I’ve never been satisfied with any “creepy” experience, of myself or others, as evidence of the paranormal. I want proof. Or at least a more exciting creepy experience. Besides, it can be fun being scared. It’s an adrenaline rush.

If you’re a Hans Holzer or a Brad Steiger or a Troy Taylor, I’m going to disappoint you. I try to take a serious approach to my investigations, but I don’t have the resources to approach this as a full-time job. It’s a hobby, and I don’t expect to prove anything to anyone else with my photos or experiences. Maybe just inspire a little wonder.

  1. I was doing homework this weekend (OK, I was watching Revenge of the Sith on TV and doing homework during commercials). During the scene where Anakin kills all the jedi children, an orange I’d placed on my desk for a snack rolled across the desk. I quickly put my hand down and caught it as it rolled off the edge. It had been sitting undisturbed for about 20 min. I should mention my desk is in the basement of a townhouse I just moved into last month. It used to belong to my sister. She’d always say that she could hear people walking across the hardwood floor above her whenever she was in the basement doing laundry. Sometimes the stairs creak like someone is walking up (or down) them. Also when I was little, I could hear people whispering in my ear and there wouldn’t be anyone around…
